The «new» Su-35 on MAKS-2007

Certainly, the basic news of the aviation-space exhibition MAKS-2007 which has been last in Moscow in the summer, 2007, was for the first time shown Su-35 a multi-purpose fighter which should replace Su-27 the basic Russian fighters, including delivered on export.

Su-35 has index Su-27М2 (i.e. it can be deciphered as Su-27М the second generation). By the plane first, as is known, had designation Su-35, the made first flight in 1994 with airbase LII (Letno-Ispytatelnyi Institut - Flight Testing Institute) which is named by name Mikhail Gromov the legendary Soviet pilot. Su-27М first generation has been developed on fashionable then to the scheme «unstable high-maneuverability three-plan») with canard. This plane has been assembled on KnAAPO (Komsomolsk-on-Amur aviation production association). To bring it on МАКS-2007, the device divided on some parts and have shipped in An-124 Ruslan long-range heavy transport. Now in a different degree of readiness in КNAAPO there are three Su-27М2/Su-35, intended for flight tests. Possibly, any of them has not had time to get yet a kind of the present plane and could not arrive on an air show even in different parts. As is known, all new planes pass a cycle flight tests in Gromov LII which motto is «We learn to fly planes!». And in fact promised, that at once after the termination of exhibition Su-27М2/Su-35 will start to fly.

Pavel Plunski: «Yes, the glider is made anew, but the share of composit materials has not increased considerably. Usual duralumin. In Su-35 internal fuel tanks holds much more fuel, than in serial Su-27. It is reached due to re-planning internal engineering space owing to reduction of volume and weights of the onboard electronic equipment (it is well visible, that at former height of tailes the root chord is increased also the capacity fuel tanks - L.N.). Besides by the aircraft dismantled the top brake board.

… As to a fighter of the fifth generation the part of working drawings has acted in КnAAPO. Whether we shall have time to lift air this plane how it has been officially declared by Sergey Ivanov, vice-premier? Certainly, a production cycle of absolutely new plane longer, than at serial. But we hope to be in time. Unfortunately, not all depends on us, contractors and subcontractors can bring. Hundreds enterprises are involved in the program of development of a fighter, and their harmonious work is, certainly, a serious problem, especially terms come nearer.

Near to Su-27М2/Su-35, but already on the other hand, it was exhibited маke-up model developed 3М54АE conventional air-launched cruise missile (ACM). As is known, created by the present time missiles this family are a part of the Club precision missile system (Russian named - Cаliber) with which submarines are equipped, the surface ships and coastal based missile systems. Index АE is spoken that with this model - «аviatsionnaya eksportnaya – air-launched, for export». Application with Su-27М2/Su-35 this kind of the weapon, probably, will transform the plane into threat for the American cruisers and the destroyers equipped by system AEGIS and already having significant antimissile capabilities. It is obvious, that equipment ASM by a supersonic warhead pursues the purpose of defeat of the ships equipped BMD powerful system.
